We’re scaling our team and we want you to join us! Due to extremely high demand for our service, we are looking for a detail-oriented full time Installation and Service Technician. In this role you will complete service calls for residential and commercial internet and voice customers. You will be installing new service by running fiber drops from our network to the customer’s premise, and installing the necessary equipment. You will also troubleshoot and resolve service and technical issues. While previous experience is desired, we are willing to train motivated individuals. What You’ll Be Doing Installation, maintenance, and repairing of fiber optic connections for residential and commercial customers. Place aerial or buried fiber optic drops and install interior and exterior wiring. Use and understand automated diagnostic equipment (i.e., handheld light meters and OTDR’s), and appropriate test equipment to verify proper installation and/or repair. Read and understand fiber and equivalent service orders and service calls. Complete inspections of outside fiber plant including testing fiber post construction and pre-sales. Adapt to changes in the business to include advances in technology, new skills, and procedures. Communicate effectively and accurately with customers to eliminate repeat service calls. Provide a best-in-class customer experience and serve as an ambassador of Loop Internet within our communities. Be self-motivated and follow through on assignments to completion in a timely manner. Read and interpret outside plant drawings for drop placement, customer service orders and repair tickets. Complete pre-install work order and post-install service verification and customer education to ensure customer satisfaction. Work at heights by using/setting up various types of ladders. Work in confined spaces. Teamwork – Assist other technicians in the performance of their duties when requested. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times Understand and adhere to company safety protocols and policies Perform other duties as required Education and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. General understanding of networking, Wi-Fi, and computing technologies. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Lift up to 75 pounds unassisted. Ability to climb a ladder or work in a aerial bucket at heights. Must be accountable and dependable. Previous experience working with fiber optic networks and related technologies in the telecommunications industry desired but not required. Ability to work in various temperature conditions. Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed. Ability to be on call on a rotating basis. Understand and demonstrate basic voice and data uses and applications.

Pay:

$23 to $28 an hour starting rate depending upon experience with a review at day 90.
