Electrical Technician I Renewable Water Resources 561 Mauldin Road, Greenville, SC 29607 About ReWa Since 1925, Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) has been committed to providing high-quality wastewater treatment services to the Upstate of South Carolina while promoting a cleaner environment, protecting public health and the water quality of Upstate waterways, and developing the necessary sewer infrastructure to sustain our community and growing economy. With nine water resource recovery facilities and more than 350 miles of pipe, we serve a broad geographic area, including Greenville County and portions of Anderson, Laurens, Pickens, and Spartanburg Counties. Each day an estimated 42 million gallons of water passes through our trunk lines and reclamation facilities before being cleaned and returned to our area rivers and streams. Job Summary This a high-level technical position which supports ReWa’s facilities by maintaining all electrical, process and pumping equipment in the wastewater environment, including pumping stations, WRRF and other facilities to ensure ReWa infrastructure reliability. This position performs routine maintenance, repairs and installations of equipment and machinery within ReWa sewer pumping station facilities and WRRFs. documents routine maintenance, diagnoses faults and completes time-critical repairs. With leadership guidance and direct oversight, gain the knowledge and experience to successfully perform routine and emergency O&M of pump station electrical assets. All work carried out is either predictive, preventative, or reactive maintenance under general supervision. Essential Skills and Experience The successful candidate:
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Requires high school diploma, GED, or specialized vocational training.
- Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience in related field.
- Must complete VFD, PLC, and Mission Communication In-house training within one (1) year from date of hire.
Pay range $27-$33/hour Position-Essential Functions The selected candidate must be able to: The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs a variety of electrical and instrumentation assets such as variable frequency drives, flow meters, transducers, generators, transfer switches, programmable logic controls, integrated controls, motor control panels, electrical services, branch circuits, sub-feeders, and SCADA.
- Programs, calibrates and installs, a variety of instrumentation and electronic equipment at pump station facilities, to include, control panels, VFD, PLC, level instruments (Vega), flow meters, and mission communication/ SCADA.
- Inspects equipment and processes to determine efficiency of operations, maintenance requirements, and cleanliness.
- Performs preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.
- Performs and/or assists with scheduled and unscheduled equipment repairs as needed.
- Assists in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment.
- Orders parts, supplies and materials as needed for maintenance and repair work.
- Maintains assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.
- Alerts supervisors to unusual operating problems.
- Prepares and maintains accurate and complete work records.
- Completes City Works CMMS work orders accurately.
- Serves on call 24 hours a day as scheduled and responds to emergency situations as necessary.
- Attends conferences, meetings, training, seminars, etc., as necessary to maintain and enhance job knowledge and skills.
- Management may assign additional duties as trained for and qualified to do so related to the work of the position as necessary.
