Electrical & Instrumentation (EI) Technician (B and D shift) 3D Corporate Solutions 1299 Duncan Rd, Ward, SC 29166 SC Pet is looking seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation (EI) Technician to join the team at our Ward, SC Plant where we manufacture premium pet food ingredients. The Ward Plant is a new, highly automated plant which is scheduled to start up in March 2018. The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and instrumentation equipment used in industrial manufacturing environments. This role ensures reliable operation of equipment by working with low
- and high-voltage systems, PLCs, HMIs, control circuits, sensors, and automation systems.
Shift(s) B-SUN, MON, TUES and every other WED 6pm-6am D-TH, FRI, SAT and every other WED 6pm-6am Required Qualifications / Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, control panels, and instrumentation devices. Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot process instrumentation including flow, pressure, level, and temperature sensors. Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams. Program, troubleshoot, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs). Diagnose and repair electrical faults in 480V 3-phase, 120V AC, and 24V DC control systems. Maintain variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centers (MCCs), and other electrical equipment. Support commissioning and startup of new equipment and systems. Ensure all work meets safety regulations, quality standards, and electrical codes (NEC, NFPA 70E, etc.). Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records in CMMS or maintenance logs. Observes all safety rules and always uses the proper safety equipment. Repairs all electrical, instrumentation, and controls components of all equipment as required. Troubleshoots and analyzes mechanical, electrical and operational issues on all equipment and takes required corrective action to resolve these issues. Operates all machines so that maintenance, changeovers, and adjustments can be tested when complete. Other duties as assigned Desired qualifications: Experience troubleshooting and programming with Allen Bradley/Rockwell Control Logix PLCs and FactoryTalk View HMIs. Experience with Ethernet/IP communication networks. Experience with SIL rated safety controls. Experience working with Endress & Hauser and IFM instrumentation. Experience working with Rockwell PlantPAx DCS. Experience working with Schneider Altivar and Altistart VFDs and Soft Starters. Basic computer networking skills. Standard knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements :
Walk / stand 100% of time during a 12-hour shift. Constant bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout shift. Frequent reaching overhead during shift. Constant pushing and pulling with arms and legs throughout shift. Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. Constant light and firm grasping with hands throughout shift. Operation of SkyJack, Forklift, Boom Lift and Scissor Lift. Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area. Required participation in a daily pre-shift meetings. Work in an environment directly affected by weather outside.
Education / Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. Three years of industrial experience or equivalent required. Technical or vocational school training relating to electrical/mechanics is preferred.
