Summary
The Field Service Technician installs, inspects and services company equipment assuring product performance, addresses and resolves questions and problems regarding products, and conducts training and service programs in the operation and maintenance of products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Install, inspect, and start up company manufactured Automatic unloading equipment at customer sites according to specifications and drawings.
2. Monitor installation of equipment to ensure that company guidelines and tolerances have been met.
3. Service all company products at customer sites; testing, troubleshooting and adjusting as needed.
4. Use various gauges, meters, and electrical testing equipment to check specifications.
5. Provide technical support to customers over the telephone, and via Email addressing and resolving questions and problems.
6. Communicate with appropriate company employees regarding product problems to facilitate problem resolution.
7. Conduct training and service programs in the operation and maintenance of equipment for customer employees.
8. Complete all required records and documentation for customers and for the company.
Qualifications
Experience
Requires high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 to 5 years of technical experience.
Certifications & Licenses
Industry-specific certifications a plus; must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Protective Clothing Required
The position may on occasion require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes or work boots, etc.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, customer specifications, warranties, company standards, and operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other employees of the organization.
Other Qualifications
Ability to operate a variety of small hand and power tools, the ability to operate electronic testing equipment, the ability to travel, and the ability to read and work from blueprints and schematics. Work may involve international travel. Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard office machines, to include a computer, telephone, fax, copier, etc.
