Job Summary Performs hands-on diagnosis and repair of percussion, stringed, reed, and wind instruments, ensuring proper tuning and function as outlined by industry standards. Utilizes hand and power tools alongside electronic tuners, maintains equipment and workspace in good order, and collaborates with supervisors to support efficient workshop workflow. What you will do
Oversee and repair or replace music instrument parts and components. Reassemble instruments following repair, as needed. Oversee all routine maintenance on instruments.
Inspect and/or play instruments to determine any defects, as well as value or level of restoration required.
Communicate with various stakeholders, including customers (supervisor, schools, band directors, etc.) Provide updates and information to stakeholders throughout the repair process.
Maintain and update inventory records in accordance with MNPS guidelines. Act as a monitor, keeping track of all instruments, tools, and other inventory. Manage procurement of any inventory or stock needed for continuing operations.
Facilitate Service Level Agreements with customers, defining the type of service and the standards of care.
Education Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Required
Experience Qualifications
1-3 years instrument repair in wind band and percussion or related experience Required
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of technical aspects of the and tools needed for various tasks, including parts and inventory management software and email communication.
Knowledge of up-to-date instrument repair techniques and technologies
Licenses and Certifications
Certification from musical repair school Preferred
Equivalency
One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education. For example, if a position requires a bachelor’s degree and you have no college credits, you may substitute four years of relevant experience for the bachelor’s degree.

Starting At:

$21.78 Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
