Engineering Test Technician Job Description Position Overview:
The Engineering Test Technician will play a crucial role in our test lab, focusing on electrical engineering tasks, troubleshooting, and programming. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with a preference for candidates holding a 4-year degree in Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering. Responsibilities Conduct EMI testing and operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes and similar devices. Troubleshoot and program using LabVIEW. Perform functional testing and use soldering irons to troubleshoot circuits. Read and interpret circuit boards and schematics. Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement testing protocols. Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accurate results. Document test procedures and results, providing detailed reports to the engineering team. Develop, implement, and maintain test systems using LabVIEW. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with test system and equipment. Document engineered systems for clients and engineers. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years of experience in a test lab environment. Associate degree with relevant experience or a 4-year degree in Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering preferred. Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles. Proficiency in troubleshooting and programming with EMI testing and operating test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, signal generators, and data generators. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Ability to use soldering irons and troubleshoot circuits effectively. Functional testing experience is highly valuable. Additional Skills & Qualifications Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Proactive and innovative approach to testing and troubleshooting. 2+ years proficient in LabVIEW with exposure to LabVIEW code manipulation. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with EMI testing (CE and UL testing standards are a plus). Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, functional and signal generators. Ability to demonstrate soldering skills during the onsite interview.
