Description Position Summary:

To ensure the safe function of firearms through careful repair and maintenance, in strict accordance with laws. Using in-depth knowledge of new and used firearms, provide customization services requested by customers or in-house. Repair and mount scopes to rifles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitie:

Other duties may be assigned Perform overhaul, maintenance, and repair of our rifles as requested by customers or in-house. Disassemble rifles, examine critical parts for wear or damage, using micrometers and precision gauges. Obtain needed replacement parts. Reassemble the rifle. Modify rifles by replacing old parts with new parts of modified design. Make changes to rifles such as reaming out a hole or smoothing off rivet heads. Repair and maintenance of scopes. Customizations including mounting of scopes. Removal of corrosion from rifles. Diagnosis and repair of firing and trigger problems. Replacement of worn barrels. Maintain records according to ATF guidelines. Perform other duties as directed by supervisor or management. Education and/or

Experience:

High school diploma or GED required. Skills acquired through an apprenticeship are required. Experience and skill in the use of precision gauges and measuring instruments such as micrometers, optical comparators, and bore scopes required. Associates degree or certificate in Firearms Repair preferred.

Previous military experience:

Army 91F (Small Arms Repairer), USMC 2111 (Small Arms Repairer/Technician), Navy Gunner’s Mate preferred. Requires a knowledge of weapons mechanical systems. Ability to recognize and determine the best method to correct malfunctions. Able to apply experience and skill in the use of precision gauges and measuring instruments such as micrometers, optical comparators, and bore scopes.
