Full Job Description Purpose and Scope:
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Performs skilled programming work in the maintenance of HVAC Control systems throughout the District. The position is responsible for monitoring equipment performance, detecting and diagnosing malfunctions, coordinating maintenance and repair work by staff or contractors, maintaining and repairing controllers, ordering parts and maintaining accurate work records. The position works under general supervision according to some procedures; decides how and when to complete tasks.

This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the primary job elements. 1.Monitors the performance of HVAC Control systems and equipment throughout the District by monitoring computerized control systems. 2.Enters information into computer control systems to schedule running time and ensure proper temperatures in all facilities. 3.Determines actual/potential HVAC Control malfunctions; troubleshoots mechanical problems and notifies appropriate technicians as necessary; provides technical guidance or assistance as needed. 4.Assesses computer control program problems; makes programming adjustments or repairs to controls and controllers as needed; performs maintenance on programs for servers, PCs and laptops; coordinates maintenance and repair work with vendors as necessary. 5.Orders and maintains inventory of parts and supplies as needed. 6.Assists in planning for the installation and implementation of HVAC Control systems in new or renovated facilities, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and regulations. 7.Maintains accurate records on energy maintenance/repair work completed. 8.Performs all work in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations and standards of safety and quality; ensures the timely completion of all work orders and assignments. 9.Attends training and meetings as required to exchange information and to enhance job knowledge and skills. 10.Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school with a high school diploma or possess a GED; Plus, four (4) years’ related experience. (PROOF
OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED
).
Degree Equivalency Formula:
Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience. Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
