Fiber Technician Prime Partners Tennessee Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced OSP Fiber Technician for a short-term infrastructure project involving the survey, installation, and termination of outdoor fiber optic cable across multiple buildings. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with OSP fiber, anaerobic splicing, and working in fast-paced field environments.

Responsibilities:

Conduct site surveys to: Identify outlying buildings Verify presence and type of existing fiber Confirm at least 6 available working strands per building Label and document verified strands Proof conduits where fiber is insufficient or unavailable Pull true tape through conduit to measure footage Coordinate and order appropriate fiber (2x 12-strand single-mode outdoor-rated per building) Pull, route, and install new OSP fiber from system room to designated cabinets Perform anaerobic splicing and termination of all fiber connections Test and certify all fiber runs to ensure proper installation and performance Document test results and provide labeled cabling according to standards Communicate clearly with the project team and follow all safety procedures on site

Requirements:

Proficient in pulling, terminating, and testing OSP fiber Must have experience with anaerobic splicing Ability to perform site surveys and interpret findings Comfortable working outdoors and in various site conditions Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass an MVR check Must be willing and able to travel as needed Provide your own PPE and basic hand tools Strong attention to detail and ability to follow project timelines

Duration:

Approx. 2 months

Pay Rate:

$18-$27/hour (DOE)

Travel/Per Diem:

Per diem and drive time will be compensated No company vehicle provided
