Position Overview We are seeking an Entry-Level Engineering Technician I to join our team. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals with a strong interest in engineering, manufacturing, or technical trades who are eager to learn and grow. This role focuses on learning the basics of assembly and testing while assisting senior technicians with hands-on support. The technician will gain experience working with technical documentation, basic tools, and test equipment, while developing an understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in a production or lab environment. Key Responsibilities Follow detailed work instructions to assist in the assembly and testing of prototype and production systems. Read and interpret basic technical documentation, engineering drawings, and assembly instructions. Use hand tools and basic test equipment (e.g., multimeters, calipers) under supervision. Manage personal tasks and prioritize daily work under the direction of senior technicians or engineers. Strictly follow safety protocols and use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Conduct basic visual inspections and quality checks on components and assemblies. Identify and report simple issues or irregularities to senior technicians. Assist with integration and testing activities under supervision. Begin to understand basic concepts of mechanical and electrical systems. Accurately record test results and document progress on assembly and test procedures. Support equipment calibration and preventive maintenance tasks under guidance. Participate in learning and applying established process improvement techniques. Engage in continuous learning through mentorship from senior technicians and peers. Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members; ask questions when clarification is needed. Provide basic support in tracking project tasks and deliverables. Assist in understanding and interpreting customer specifications and requirements as part of team efforts. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, vocational training, or certification in a technical field preferred. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience (e.g., school projects, internships, hobbies). Willingness to learn technical tools and procedures in a hands-on environment. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions carefully. Basic math skills and comfort using measurement tools. Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Preferred Skills Exposure to technical drawings or CAD software. Familiarity with basic electronics or mechanical assembly. Previous internship or co-op in a technical or engineering environment.
