Job Title:

Controls Engineer Client is unable to provide visa sponsorship now or in the future. Job Description The Controls Engineer is responsible for the completion of conveyor upgrade and system integration projects. This includes developing, creating, testing, implementing, and commissioning PLC programs for conveyor systems. The role involves initial code development conforming to established in-house programming, complying with customer specifications, and completing field testing documentation and start-up activities. Responsibilities Develop, create, test, implement, and commission PLC programs for conveyor systems. Ensure initial code development conforms to established in-house programming and field commissioning. Comply with customer specifications for system control, monitoring, testing, and documentation. Prepare detailed and complete PLC programs that comply with system design drawings and project specifications. Test and document testing procedures for all developed programs and software. Complete all commissioning documents for L1 and L2 commissioning. Perform field commissioning and testing of assigned projects within a team. Travel to job sites for commissioning and start-up activities as required. Collaborate with project managers, customers, and others to understand project specifications and design requirements. Essential Skills Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. 2-5 years of relevant Controls Engineering experience. Experience with PLC programming, Allen Bradley, and RSLogix. Knowledge of Industrial Control Networks and Ethernet/IP communications. Experience with material-handling equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with HMI systems. Strong understanding of control systems design and integration. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Work Environment This position is remote with 85% travel to customer sites, including companies like UPS, FedEx, and Amazon. The typical travel schedule is 10 days on and 4 days off. Preferred candidates are located on the East Coast near major airports in cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, Louisville, New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Jacksonville, Boston, Orlando, Ohio, and Alabama.
