This role will be responsible for supporting their electrical and instrumentation projects at the McIntosh site.

TBD Essential Functions:

Identify and communicate project scope, specifications, and design criteria upon assignment to a project. Coordinate work activities with other project team members and the Project Manager. Work with construction contractors, Capital Engineer, and Capital Project Manager to handle field issues that may arise during project implementation with proper procedures and documentation. Responsible for maintaining set of accurate As-Built and construction in progress documentation to ensure proper project closures. Field verification, redlining, and updating of existing drawings in AutoCAD. Updating of existing drawings utilizing redlines by others in AutoCAD. Serve as liaison between Operations, Maintenance, HS&E, Automation, outside contractors and the Capital Project Manager. Coordinate design with plant and Capital Engineering SME’s from estimate through all design stages. Understands and follows company, industry, and government codes, practices, regulations, and standards and acquire and maintain all vital licenses and certificates pertinent to the role. Follow and complete internal and external training sessions as assigned by the supervisor and assist in supporting other crew members in design skills and tasks. Review and understand P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), site layouts, and control schematics.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The position is based at an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboard. Must be able to bend, stoop and climb on a ladder or up and down stairs. Must be able to drive a company vehicle to and from job sites or office locations. Ability to go on job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility in a hot climate. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. Occasional reaching overhead.

Skills & Qualifications:

Familiarity with software used in plant operations, like SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. Be prepared for on-call assignments, which may include overtime and off-hours work requests, demonstrating flexibility and reliability. Possesses strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with colleagues and management, fostering a positive work environment. Must demonstrate a personal commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations with a proven track record in Safety and Reliability. This is a safety-sensitive role. Must be able to work on assignment without sponsorship and at client location. This role will be working for Orion Engineers and Constructors at client location. Expected duration of assignment will be from March 2024 through March 2025, with the potential of an extension. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to read, understand and interpret prints/drawings and other technical documents. Ability to use most inspection tools, measuring and test equipment. Ability to read and understand policies, procedures, and processes. Must have valid driver’s license and suitable driving record that is able to meet company driver requirements as may be required to obtain a TWIC. Commitment to high quality. Must be prompt, dependable and have a good attendance record. Must be able to pass an approved background check. Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test. Must participate in random drug tests.

Education & Experience:

Associate’s, Technical Degree, or equivalent combination of education required. Minimum of 5+ years of field and/or design experience in Industrial required. Preferred candidates will have a history of successful work experience and job assignments at refinery or chemical operating units. Industrial manufacturing facility is planning to install several new facilities that will require general arrangements and equipment layouts in 3D CAD. Projects will include piping, structural, and mechanical design elements.
