System One is recruiting for an Electrical Designer for apermanent position to support maritime projects located in Bayou LaBatre, Alabama.
Electrical Designer Responsibilities:
Developdetailed electrical drawings including power distribution layouts,cable schedules, equipment installation details, and one-linediagrams. Assist in designing lighting, communication, navigation,alarm, and control systems for various ship classes. Support thedevelopment of electrical models using AutoCAD, or other designtools. Create and maintain accurate bills of materials (BOMs), wirelists, and other supporting documentation. Ensure design packagescomply with project specifications, classification societystandards (e.g., ABS, DNV), and regulatory codes (e.g., NEC, IEEE).Coordinate with engineering, structural, piping, and outfittingdisciplines to resolve spatial and integration issues. Supportchange management by revising drawings and documentation inresponse to field modifications and design updates. Participate indesign reviews, shop support, and as-built documentation duringconstruction and commissioning.
Electrical Designer Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Drafting/Design Technology, ElectricalTechnology, or a related field. 5 years of experience in marineelectrical drafting or design, preferably in shipbuilding, oroffshore. Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similarCAD software. Understanding of electrical design principlesincluding wire routing, power distribution, and grounding.
Experience with shipboard electrical systems and maritime designstandards required. Knowledge of classification society rules (ABS,DNV) and marine electrical regulations. Advanced knowledge ofMicrosoft office tools including Excel, Word and Outlook. Strongattention to detail and accuracy. Ability to interpret engineeringdrawings, specifications, and schematics. Effective communicationand collaboration skills. Capable of managing multiple prioritiesand meeting deadlines in a production-driven environment.
