PLC Programmer

This isn’t just another programming job-it’s a critical, high-impact role supporting the heartbeat of a fully automated, brand-new manufacturing facility right here in Lakeland, FL. Our client is a nationally known manufacturer, expanding rapidly and investing heavily in state-of-the-art automation. This facility is run end-to-end by Siemens PLC systems-and they’re looking for a true controls specialist who can handle everything from high-level logic development to troubleshooting I/O miscommunication mid-shift.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Program, edit, and troubleshoot Siemens PLCs across the entire production line-from raw material handling to finished product packaging. Own the automation floor-diagnosing miscommunications between PLCs, field devices, HMIs, and instrumentation. Step into real-time production challenges, read logic flows, and make calibrated corrections that keep production moving. Collaborate directly with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to reduce downtime and improve automation reliability. Interpret and modify electrical and control schematics to assist in system upgrades, retrofits, and new equipment integration. Maintain documentation of changes, logic revisions, and system configurations. Support continuous improvement projects by identifying opportunities for automation optimization and increased throughput. What You Bring to the

Table:

5+ years of experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting-Siemens S7/TIA Portal experience is a must. Proven ability to dig into code, interpret complex logic, and identify root causes of system failures or performance issues. Strong grasp of automation architecture, sensors, servos, VFDs, HMIs, and SCADA systems. Ability to remain cool under pressure and pivot quickly in high-speed manufacturing environments. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset-this is a cross-functional role with plant-wide impact. High attention to detail and commitment to safety and documentation standards.

  • 40/hour (Based on Experience)
Shift Schedule:

2-2-3 (12-hour shifts

  • every other weekend is a 3-day weekend) 100%
