Instructor – Electrical Systems
Instructor – Electrical Systems We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Electrical systems Instructor to join our education team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems and commercial wiring practices, and a passion for teaching and mentoring students preparing for careers in the electrical trade. This role involves delivering hands-on and classroom instruction in accordance with industry standards, codes, and best practices. Deliver instruction on electrical wiring systems, including conduit bending, panel installation, raceways, load calculations, blueprints, and safety practices.
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum goals and industry standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA).
Provide classroom and lab-based instruction, emphasizing practical skills and code compliance.
Evaluate student performance, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records of progress and attendance.
Maintain a safe and organized classroom/lab environment.
Stay current with industry developments and code updates.
Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance curriculum and instructional quality.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical Systems, or a related field (required).
Current HVAC and/or Plumbing License (required).
EPA Section 608 Certification (required for HVAC instruction).
Teaching credential, NCCER certification, or equivalent (preferred).Previous experience in the electrical field, and/or experience teaching in the electrical field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial electrical wiring or a related field.
Prior teaching or training experience (preferred but not required).Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Ability to explain complex concepts in simple, clear terms.
Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Competence with instructional technology and tools (e.g., PowerPoint, LMS, simulations).
Positive safety attitude and personal integrity – both are non-negotiable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to acquire new skills and competencies Self-starter with the ability to manage your own workload and priorities with an attention to detail
