Electrical Designer Job Description We are seeking a qualified Electrical Project Engineer or Senior Designer to join our team of professional and talented engineers, designers, and support staff. This individual should embody our core values of Growth, Impact, Value, Excellence, and Service. Responsibilities Implement all facets of electrical design including lighting and lighting controls. Design normal power systems, standby/emergency power systems, and create one-line/riser diagrams. Conduct arc flash analysis and short-circuit studies. Coordinate with utility companies and select and specify equipment. Develop comprehensive electrical system designs and layouts. Perform field investigations and observations. Administer construction processes and ensure adherence to design specifications. Essential Skills Bachelor’s degree in engineering. E.I.T. certification (P.E. Registration preferred). 8+ years of project experience (10+ years for non-degreed candidates). Demonstrated technical expertise in major electrical systems. Familiarity with industry-related codes, standards, and guidelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Adaptability to fast-paced environments. Problem-solving skills. Ability to work within a multi-disciplined team. Provide guidance to less experienced engineers and designers. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Active participation in industry-related organizations for professional development. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), EasyPower or SKM, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Revit. Work Environment The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and EasyPower or SKM.
