Position Summary:
- We are seeking a highly skilled
- PLC Programmer
- with experience in industrial automation to join our team at Vicksburg Forest Products.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and associated control systems used in sawmill operations. This role plays a critical part in optimizing equipment performance, ensuring safety standards, and maximizing productivity.

Responsibilities:
- Program and tune multiple axis of motion control
- Program and debug PLC’s and HMI’s
- Design control systems used in high performing Equipment
- Assist in the planning of new equipment installations
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Administer modifications of existing PLC programs in coordination with mill personnel
- Troubleshoot production equipment (motors, PLC’s, VFD’s, etc.
- Provide phone support as needed

Qualifications:
- Related degree or equivalent industry experience required
- Strong working knowledge of motion controllers, PLC’s, servo systems and HMI’s
- Experience with Allen Bradly Control Logix preferred
- Ability to manage time and priorities without direct supervision
- Excellent communication and listening skills

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SCADA systems, industrial robotics, or vision systems
- Knowledge of sawmill equipment and processes such as debarkers, primary breakdowns, edgers, and trimmers
- Familiarity with safety systems including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and safety PLCs.

- Availability to support off-shift or weekend maintenance activities when necessary.
