Job Description

Job Title:

Distribution Designer Job Description As a Utility Designer, you will coordinate with Residential Project Account Managers to gather information from developers, such as neighborhood layouts and load information. Using this data, you will determine cable routing, transformer locations and sizing, and secondary cable routing and sizing. You will also manage roadway crossing locations and conduit layouts, clean up CAD files for land base mapping and construction prints, and order the necessary cable and equipment for construction crews. Your designs will be delivered back to the RPAM group for continued coordination with developers until project completion. Responsibilities Coordinate with Residential Project Account Managers to obtain necessary project information. Determine underground cable routing and transformer locations. Size transformers using load calculators. Route and size secondary cables from transformers to meter delivery points using secondary service calculators. Identify roadway crossing locations and provide conduit layouts. Receive and clean up CAD files for land base mapping and construction prints. Order appropriate cable and equipment for construction crews. Deliver designs back to the RPAM group for continued project coordination. Essential Skills Proficiency in design, engineering, and drafting. Experience with AutoCAD. Knowledge in Civil, Electrical design, and Drafting & Design. Understanding of Distribution/Power, Power delivery, Utility design, Distribution engineering. Experience in Mechanical Design, Substation Design, Transmission Design, Power & utilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as a CSD Designer, Electrical Designer, Utility Designer. Background as a Power Systems Designer, Grid Design Engineer, Electrical Distribution Planner. Experience as an Infrastructure Designer, Utility Planning Engineer. Work Environment The work is performed in an office setting.
