CAD Engineering Technician 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars New Gretna, NJ 08224 Viking Yacht Company is a designer and manufacturer of high-end luxury boats, in business and under the same private ownership and management since 1964. The Plant Engineering team has an immediate opening for a motivated, entry-level CAD technician. Position is full-time, Monday-Friday offering highly competitive wages and benefits, including medical, prescription, dental, vision care coverage, life insurance, and a 401K plan. The Plant Engineering department is responsible for fabrication of production equipment and fixturing, facility maintenance, construction projects, environmental and safety compliance, and groundskeeping. As part of the Plant Engineering team, an Engineering Technician is expected to work with numerous team members and other departments to help in project completion. Job Responsibilities Set up and draft plans by analyzing sketches, field notes, and other input material to determine the best approach for the completion of drawings. Draft site plans, elevations, equipment and structural details while working with engineering staff and project managers. Conform to the company’s standard CAD procedures for layering, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout projects within established deadlines. Coordinate scale, details, and dimensions between drawing sheets. Work with fabricators to provide drawings suitable for fabrication. Work within a team-oriented environment to successfully complete a high volume of Work semi-independently on facility projects of multi-disciplines and manufacturing design work, including mechanical, civil, electrical, architectural, structural, plumbing, etc. Conduct field inspections to verify work or gather existing conditions data. Complete assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency increases. Track and report on the progress of multiple ongoing projects. File drawings, maintain catalogs of engineering data, and perform other routine functions as required. Job Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent (Associates Degree, or a Certificate from a technical school, preferably in AutoCAD). 2+ years of design experience. Highly skilled with AutoCAD. Experience with Photoshop is a plus. Manufacturing design experience is a plus. Occasionally the employee will need to access areas of our facilities that include elevated areas (ceilings, roofs, etc.). Ladders or aerial lifts may be used.
