In the role of Highway EIT/Designer, we’ll count on you to: Work on a team with other project engineers on the design of urban and rural roadway projects Take responsibility for alignment and profile, geometrics, drainage, development of plans and construction estimates Aid with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications and calculations Communicate and coordinate with utility companies and the project team specifically to the design process and schedule and per standard client practices and requirements Develop and maintain accurate records of utility coordination efforts and delivery and receipt of documentation, including routine updates for the client and project team Develop and coordinate utility agreements and memoranda of agreements between utility companies and the client as applicable to the project design Coordinate with utility companies to obtain, review, and maintain utility-specific documentation (ie prior rights, as-builts, encroachment permits, betterments, no-cost letters, standards and specifications, etc.) Review project design plans for utility conflicts and evaluation of feasible alternatives for mitigation Prepare and update utility reports and applicable data specific to proposed project design Prepare specifications and contract document Participate in project coordination meetings Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications (we can add/edit this section) Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression Proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience with Microstation and/or Open Roads.
