Job Description

Controls Engineer Job Description This position leverages PLC/HMI skills to resolve issues, contribute to the development of new products and processes, and maintain and improve existing equipment. The role involves completing PLC programming and HMI screen programming for production projects, analyzing data to justify procedural changes, and optimizing processes for enhanced productivity and reduced costs. Responsibilities Complete PLC programming and HMI screen programming for production projects. Collect and analyze data to justify procedural changes or process modifications. Identify improvement opportunities in existing manufacturing operations. Optimize processes to achieve lower manufacturing costs and reduced cycle times. Contribute to project teams to ensure successful completion of objectives. Develop training and standard operating procedures for effective use of continuous process improvement methodologies. Collaborate with the Health and Safety team to ensure safe practices are maintained. Find solutions to problem areas in existing operational procedures. Update, modify, and continuously improve existing control systems, including ladder logic programs and relay logic. Design, program, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC controls for industrial manufacturing equipment. Design, program, and maintain user interfaces for machines and systems. Produce and maintain wiring diagrams and schematics. Essential Skills Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI troubleshooting. Experience with Keyence PLC ladder logic and control panel design. Knowledge of Allen-Bradley systems. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. 5+ years of experience in Controls Engineering. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proven knowledge of Rockwell Automation and Keyence PLC systems. Experience with Ignition deployment connected to machinery. Background in Mechatronics or experience working for a systems integrator. Familiarity with controls panel design. Travel not expected to exceed 10%.
