Job Description
BlueHalo is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and fielding of the MAST Surrogate Missile System , a cutting-edge technology developed by our Directed Energy/Kinetic Effectors (DEKE) Group. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a premier defense program, working hands-on in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on hardware, firmware, and embedded systems integration.

10-25% (to remote test and field sites)
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement FPGA solutions using VHDL/Verilog and Xilinx Vivado toolsets Develop and integrate high-speed data transfer and storage protocols (e.g., PCIe, JESD204B) Interface with embedded systems and protocols including
RS-232/422, I2C, SPI, AXI
Design and develop custom PCBs using Altium Designer to IPC standards Support the design and control of power electronics and small motor systems Perform embedded programming in C/C++ with RTOS and/or Linux environments Conduct hands-on hardware testing, debugging, and integration in lab and field environments Prepare electrical drawings and documentation in accordance with industry standards Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and program teams to meet project goals
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance Proficiency with RTL design (VHDL/Verilog) and Xilinx Vivado tools Experience with embedded system programming (C/C++) and real-time OS (RTOS/Linux) Strong knowledge of PCB design and electronics manufacturing standards Familiarity with FPGA communication protocols and high-speed interfaces Comfortable working hands-on with hardware testing and debugging Willingness to travel up to 25% for field integration and test support Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with soldering and PCB rework to IPC standards Background in missile systems or avionics design Previous work with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments Field testing experience at missile or weapon system test ranges Implementation of high-speed digital interfaces (e.g., PCIe) LabVIEW programming for test and automation
