Job Description
Electrical Engineer, PE
Seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with electrical system design experience in an industrial facility. Design experience in steel facilities is considered a significant plus.
The successful candidate shall have the following specific responsibilities:
A person must be registered as a professional engineer in the State of Alabama.
Knowledge of Electrical design practices including drawings, specifications, codes, building materials, and construction techniques.
Prepares CAD electrical design drawings such as: single line diagrams; power, lighting, grounding, and other systems plans; electrical area plans; electrical equipment arrangement plans; cable tray layout plans and sections; conduit and cable schedules; motor control schematics.
Applies standard drafting/design principles to complete assignments. Ensure compliance with company and client policies and applicable standards and codes such as

ANSI, NEMA, NEC, IEEE, IEC, NFPA

etc.
Makes required changes, additions, and/or revisions, as directed by immediate supervisor.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Prepares typical electrical databases/spreadsheets such as: motor and electrical load lists; panel schedules; bills of materials.
Assists the Department Manager in maintaining the project design schedule and budget.
Confers and coordinates with other Electrical Engineers regarding any information required for completion of the design.
Interface with project management and project engineers during the design, execution, and startup phases of projects
Confers and coordinates with other disciplines to assure compliance with design requirements, company standards and procedures, industry codes and standards, and client criteria.
May direct, guide, and check the work of a team of CAD designers and CAD drafters on a project.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS

P.E. preferred. Must be registered as a professional engineer in the State of Alabama.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors degree or equivalent.
Proficiency with AutoCAD design software experience is required.
Minimum 3-10 years relevant experience in electrical design engineering and in industrial environment
Electrical power system design experience for industrial facilities.
Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office products and other computer software used to complete design assignments.
Knowledge in Raceways/Conduit, lighting, cable trays, Cable Size.
Knowledge of Electrical design practices including drawings, specifications, codes, building materials, and construction techniques.

LOCATION

This person could work out of an office in Pittsburgh or be onsite in Alabama. They also could work remotely in the US, preferably in the EST zone.
