It also focuses on training and developing “Day Roles” (e.g., maintenance coordinator and process specialist) for more value-added tasks. The position provides functional supervision to the maintenance coordinator at the HCN plant and actively contributes to the HCN Leadership Team. Additionally, it offers technical expertise to support maintenance and continuous process improvement, aiming to reduce costs while ensuring safety and product quality. The role addresses complex issues, often consulting other engineers for guidance. Collaboration with the Plant Engineering Supervisor and Plant Superintendent is key to driving improvements in equipment, processes, and personnel development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Care & Condition Management:
Ensures the production unit is functioning optimally in collaboration with other key staff like the Area Engineer, Plant Superintendent, and Manufacturing Director.
Production Plant Availability:
Responsible for the technical availability of the plant, optimizing OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) to meet production goals.
Continuous Improvement:
Drives ongoing improvements in the technical aspects of the production process, ensuring economic, safety, and environmental requirements are met.
Project Management & Support:
Involves managing and planning technical support, maintenance activities, technical changes, and overseeing projects.
Process Expertise:
Provides expert advice in process engineering, offering solutions for both ongoing issues and new developments.
Innovation & Problem-Solving:
Uses engineering creativity to anticipate problems and come up with long-term solutions.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
Ensures that technical documentation and maintenance practices comply with relevant regulations.
Mentorship & Skill Development:
Coaches production personnel, helping them build their skills in maintenance, projects, and continuous improvement.
Transformational Leadership:
Assists in transforming the plant’s culture from hierarchical to more team-oriented structures.
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of relevant experience along with Postgraduate Degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering Experience with
OSHA PSM
(Process Safety Management) regulated plants is strongly preferred. Broad engineering experience in engineering, maintenance, process technology, and planning and organizing.
Cost Awareness & Responsibility:
Ability to work with cost-related tasks, including budgeting, costing, and financial management. A good understanding of accounting principles is necessary
Independent Work & Guidance:
Capable of working independently on complex tasks while also providing guidance and training to others. Expertise in
Safety Systems:
Acts as the organizational authority on safe work systems and the application of safety protocols. Ability to build solid working relationships with production personnel.
