Job Purpose Provide effective technical expertise for Electrical & Control systems by designing, managing, and implementing equipment solutions, based on requirements of the department’s business plan to ensure company sustainability. The incumbent will be working onsite in a manufacturing production environment with automated, robotic equipment cells. Will utilize data analysis and customer feedback to identify potential problems and implement countermeasures to reduce impact to SQCDME (safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale, environmental). Develop and maintain technical documentation/procedures to meet design intent for long-term production sustainability Key Accountabilities Develop, manage, and implement established E-Flow (evaluation flow) for investment projects to accomplish business plan targets
Complete equipment improvement activity and the decision-making process to improve characteristics which empower every associate to succeed
Adhere to equipment installation standards (drawings, compliance, data) to effectively improve MTBF (mean time between failures) and MTTR (mean time to repair)
Drive, support, and develop engineering solutions to solve complex problems to achieve department targets
Become a SME (subject matter expert) to research applications, introduce new technologies, and provide associated technical training to drive continuous process improvements
Develop capability of self, colleagues and team through training, mentoring, sharing of experiences and abilities to ensure team technical skill set growth
Share engineering technical knowledge and change points through verbal and written information to all internal and external customers to strengthen department and plant characteristics
Identify gaps in business plan categories, pertaining to equipment, to develop, lead and/or actively participate in the execution of activities to improve SQCDME (safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale, environmental)

Alabama Auto Plant (Line 2), Lincoln, AL

Workstyle:

100% onsite (at the work location on all workdays). Should be able and flexible to work overtime daily, weekends & during shutdowns in accordance with business and/or project needs.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Minimum Educational Qualifications:

A Bachelors (BS) level degree in Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronics / Computer Engineering / Controls Software or similar field of study. A Professional Engineer (PE) certification or other relevant certifications can enhance career prospects.

Minimum Experience:

3 to 8 years of recent demonstrable experience on the below.
A strong understanding of electrical / electronic engineering principles, including circuit theory, power systems, and electrical safety.
Knowledge of control systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
Hands-on experience in PLC programming alongside proficiency in Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Functional Block Diagram (FBD).
Understanding of automation systems and robotics, including sensor technology, actuator systems, and robotics principles.
Should be able analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate technical information and collaborate with other team members.

Highly desirable:

Prior experience working on Allen-Bradley factory automation equipment.
