The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a 12-month, time-limited, non-tenure track, full-time, Assistant/Associate/Full Engineer in the Florida Applied Research in Engineering (FLARE) Unit. Initial appointment is for one year, and annual reappointment is expected based on availability and performance. FLARE focuses on proprietary, applied, and classified research in partnership with faculty and student talent. FLARE is seeking non-tenure-track (NTT) subject matter expert (SME) engineers to develop and conduct research and education activities in the areas of Radar System Analysis, Design, Development, and Test. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in modeling and simulation of RF sensor systems, analysis and testing of developmental hardware performance in application specific environments, advanced signal processing algorithm development and implementation, in addition to success pursuing and conducting research and development in collaboration with industry, government, academia, and/or small businesses partners.

EXPECTED SALARY

Salary to commensurate with education and experience.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

A Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with focus in Communications and Digital Signal Processing, and 10+ years of related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A PhD and/or 15+ years of experience in radar sensors and systems and with experience in pursuing, capturing, and supporting complex, multidisciplinary applied and classified research.
