Electrical Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to develop and design electrical motor control systems according to provided specifications and UL508A guidelines. The role involves developing quotations, supporting sales by visiting customer sites, preparing schematics, bills of materials, and layout drawings, providing direction throughout the production process, overseeing final testing, and initiating technical documentation for completed projects. Additionally, technical support for customers and the sales team is required. Responsibilities Develop and design electrical motor control systems per provided specifications and UL508A guidelines. Develop quotations for electrical systems based on drawings and specifications. Support sales by visiting customer sites to discuss system solutions. Prepare schematics, bills of materials, fabrication, and layout drawings. Provide direction and support throughout the production process. Oversee and sign-off on final testing of completed systems. Initiate final technical documentation for completed projects. Provide technical support for customers and the sales team. Essential Skills 4-6 years of experience in electrical engineering and design. Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Solidworks, and ePlan. Experience with electrical design of control panels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective organizational skills and attention to detail. Competent analytical and problem-solving skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Solidworks, and EPlan. Experience with Eplan P8 & Pro Panel is strongly preferred. Well-versed in Microsoft Office. Team player mentality. Work Environment The position is based in a general office environment with occasional exposure to industrial shop environments. The work involves 70% individual tasks and 30% teamwork. The candidate must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time and be willing to make occasional field visits.
