Facilities Electrical Engineer ResourceTek is the Human Capital division of Barge DesignSolutions, a multi-discipline Engineering firm. We specialize inproviding technical recruitment and staffing services to industryand government in all areas of Engineering, Information Technology,and a broad range of other technical disciplines. In support of our client, a leader in automotive OEM, we areseeking an experienced Facilities Electrical Engineer located inSmyrna, TN. The right candidate will be responsible for variousassigned projects concerning development, design, construction,and/or installation of electrical systems at Client facilities.

This is a long-term, contract-to-hire opportunity.

JOB DUTIES

Coordinate electrical design and construction of buildings andfacilities. Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies to determine thesimplest, most efficient and cost-effective approach to solvingengineering tasks. Develop specification, scope of work, and bid documents forelectrical projects. Assist Purchasing with bidder lists and bid reviews by providingrelevant, consolidated data to support the decision-makingprocess. Review, check and inspect vendor designs and electrical plans toensure adherence quality standards. (50%) Perform necessary fieldwork to gather field data, check tie-ins andprovide construction support. Responsible for coordinating contractor onsite work and providingclear direction regarding Client requirements and standards as itpertains to facility infrastructure projects. Ensure documentation and CAD standards are followed bycontractors. Coordinate with public utility providers to provide clear directionrelated to utility infrastructure projects Develop and trackproject schedules and costs. (30%) Develop and maintain procedures for all existing building andgrounds in collaboration with the Facilities department. Perform lifecycle analysis and develop long-term plansaccordingly. Provide environmental support to the Facilities department asrequired to maintain benchmark status. Lead and control budgets for electrical engineering planning. Coordinate and interface between local Client and German ClientProduction Planning. Ensure integration of corporate standards and best practices formGermany into local Client processes and practices.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related area, or theequivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience inthe following area(s): Engineering function in an automotivemanufacturing environment. Solid understanding of industrial power system protection, controland power monitoring. Working knowledge of national electrical code (NEC) and standardfor electrical safety in the workplace (NFPA 70E). Solid understanding of commercial and industrial lightingsystems. Solid understanding of facility scope development and costing Working knowledge of MS Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Intermediate facilitation and project management skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Master’s degree. PE License. Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar projectscheduling program. German language skills. ResourceTek offers industry leading compensation and benefits.
