Job description Facilities Electrical Engineer ResourceTek isthe Human Capital division of Barge Design Solutions, amulti-discipline Engineering firm. We specialize in providingtechnical recruitment and staffing services to industry andgovernment in all areas of Engineering, Information Technology, anda broad range of other Technical disciplines. In support of ourclient, a leader in automotive OEM, we are seeking an experiencedFacilities Electrical Engineer located in Smyrna, TN. This rolewill involve managing the development, design, construction, andinstallation of complex electrical systems with a strong emphasison power distribution infrastructure. The right candidate will beresponsible for various assigned projects concerning development,design, construction, and/or installation of electrical systems atClient facilities. This is a long-term, contract-to-hireopportunity.

JOB DUTIES

Coordinate electrical design andconstruction of buildings and facilities. Develop conceptuallayouts and cost studies to determine the simplest, most efficientand cost-effective approach to solving engineering tasks. Designand oversee low-, medium-, and high-voltage power distributionsystems, including transformers, switchgear, panelboards, andprotective devices. Develop specification, scope of work, and biddocuments for electrical projects. Assist Purchasing with bidderlists and bid reviews by providing relevant, consolidated data tosupport the decision-making process. Review, check and inspectvendor designs and electrical plans to ensure adherence qualitystandards. (50%) Perform necessary fieldwork to gather field data,check tie-ins and provide construction support. Responsible forcoordinating contractor onsite work and providing clear directionregarding Client requirements and standards as it pertains tofacility infrastructure projects. Ensure documentation and CADstandards are followed by contractors. Interface with local publicutility providers to ensure timely and accurate execution ofutility service connections and power capacity planning. Manageproject schedules and costs, particularly for infrastructureupgrades and electrical load growth planning. (30%) Develop andmaintain procedures for all existing building and grounds incollaboration with the Facilities department. Perform lifecycleanalysis and develop long-term plans accordingly. Provideenvironmental support to the Facilities department as required tomaintain benchmark status. Lead and control budgets for electricalengineering planning. Coordinate and interface between local Clientand German Client Production Planning. Ensure integration ofcorporate standards and best practices form Germany into localClient processes and practices.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree inelectrical engineering or related area, or the equivalentcombination of education and experience. A minimum of seven (7)years of relevant professional experience in the following area(s):

Engineering function in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of industrial power system distribution,protection schemes, coordination, and system reliability. Workingknowledge of national electrical code (NEC) and standard forelectrical safety in the workplace (NFPA 70E). Familiarity withNFPA 70E, NEC, and utility interconnection requirements. Solidunderstanding of commercial and industrial lighting systems. Solidunderstanding of facility scope development and costing Workingknowledge of MS Office. Excellent written and verbal communicationskills. Intermediate facilitation and project management skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Master’s degree. PE License. Working knowledge ofMicrosoft Project or similar project scheduling program.
