experience preferred. PSLF other software is a plus Job Description Project Lead the Transmission Energy Delivery Team. This position is fully remote and will require 10% as needed. The main responsibilities are listed below. Develop, verify andor adjust the planning power system models (power-flow, short-circuit and dynamic) and the operating network models with respect to transmission topology, transmission and generation electrical characteristics.
Use and interpret vendor-supplied and client-supplied information for the development of the planning power system models (power-flow, short-circuit and dynamic) and the operating network models.
Perform transmission system studies using industry-accepted software tools (PSSE, PSLF) to assess system performance, compliance with the NERC transmission planning standards, including generator interconnection, deliverability studies, and transmission system impact studies.
Evaluate compliance with NERC and regional standards relative to transmission system modeling and planning, review evidence for compliance.
Complete planning tasks associated with the interconnection of transmission, load and generation facilities.
Perform planning activities associated with asset registration and qualification, facilities performance review, power flow modeling.
Provide representation at RTOISO transmission and generation technical stakeholder workgroups.
Serve as lead expert for Transmission Planning and NERC reliability standards requirements associated with planning, rating, and modeling of transmission and generation facilities.
Provide planning and coordination of subtasks for overall projects. Limited client interaction as directed by senior staff. Develop draft communication for clients in the form of reports and presentations.
Deliver complete and accurate project deliverables to project supervisor. Carry out complex project assignments that require advanced knowledge.
Collaborate with other team members, latitude for independent judgement. Experience and Skills
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or Power Engineering, preferred degree from an ABET (Accreditation for Engineering and Technology) certified school.
Minimum 4 years of relevant transmission planning, andor generationtransmission modeling work experience.
Relevant working experience with power system modeling software tools such as PSSE, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSSMUST, TARA.
Transmission planning experience on bulk power systems.
Familiarity with design, planning or operation of distribution andor transmission facilities.
Familiarity with RTO or non-RTO interconnection and planning requirements.
Familiarity with NERC reliability standards requirements associated with planning, rating, and modeling of transmission and generation facilities.
Ability to read and interpret electrical distribution andor transmission one-lines and associated equipment specifications.
Ability to perform and interpret results of steady-state power-flow and short-circuit studies andor transient stability studies with minimal supervisiondirection.
Ability to interpret findings and share consolidated steady-state or transient-state study results.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and able to work on multiple projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Relevant working experience with other computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
Domestic travel of up to 10%.
