Controls Engineer 3 Job Description The primary role of a Controls Engineer is to design, develop, install, and maintain equipment used to monitor and control engineering systems and processes. This position focuses on ensuring optimal operation of engineering systems while adhering to safety and legal standards. Responsibilities Assist in creating and following an electrical design schedule from specification concept to system completion, maintaining alignment with the overall project timeline. Test, evaluate, modify, and calibrate products and instruments to ensure quality and functionality. Analyze plant processes and design improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Troubleshoot hardware and process issues to ensure smooth operations. Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design, including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements for completed work. Essential Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities. Proficient customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and effectively manage time. Leadership and mentoring skills to provide support and constructive feedback. Technical proficiency in some software applications.
