This role as an Electrical-Focused Field Engineer involves developing, designing, and executing projects under the guidance of the Engineering Manager. The position requires collaboration with manufacturing management, corporate departments, and external agencies, with a primary focus on electrical and power systems.
Key responsibilities include:
Collecting design criteria and preparing schedules and technical specifications. Developing engineering designs and assembling project estimates. Creating engineered drawings and using project management tools to ensure projects meet safety, quality, performance, and budget requirements. Project Development and Administration Develop and execute complex projects with detailed scopes, schedules, and budgets. Translate stakeholder design criteria into actionable technical designs and plans. Partner with stakeholders to develop project options and proposals. Submit documentation for project approval and maintain project files. Project Management and Execution Apply technical standards, engineering best practices, and project management processes. Track spending and control project costs. Manage onsite contractor activities and minimize disruptions to plant activities. Perform quality control functions and provide onsite support for project commissioning and optimization. Technical Resources Design electrical systems in an industrial environment, adhering to NFPA and NESC standards. Collaborate with teams to develop innovative solutions and provide coaching and support for engineers and technical resources. Additional Requirements Availability for project-related overtime and on-call duties. Willingness to travel domestically (40%) and internationally. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering 5+ years of experience Project management experience: Design development, specification creation, scheduling, budgeting, installation, etc. Capital project financial management experience Proficiency in project management and engineering software: Smartsheet, AutoCAD, etc.
