Professional Engineer - Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E)

Baker Smith is currently seeking a Registered Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering to join our growing team. The ideal candidate possesses relevant experience on projects for clients in the midstream and downstream sectors, with particular emphasis on instrumentation and low-to-medium voltage electrical. This individual will be accountable for all I&E design and engineering deliverables produced by lesser-experienced I&E associates at the firm.
Your Opportunity:
Leadership, management, and accountability of I&E project team members.
Works with discipline, project execution, client management and internal leadership.
Ensuring that the appropriate standard of care (quality assurance/quality control) is provided on all project work.
Take the lead in technical design, plan, and specification production.
Mentor and empower project team members by displaying high levels of engagement and character.
Strengthen and grow existing client base and service offerings; Identify opportunities for growth across markets.
Desired Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 years of experience, 7 to 10 years preferred.
Louisiana-licensed professional engineer (P.E.).
Proven skills in engineering design and problem solving.
Project management experience, including the development of project proposals, scopes, budgets, and the successful execution and tracking of both small and large engineering projects.
Proven leadership skills.
Ability to clearly communicate and relate to clients and associates at all levels of the organization.
Experience monitoring and controlling costs within own work.
Experience solving moderately complex problems and will be expected to new perspectives on existing solutions.
Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus, but not a requirement.
