Job Description
5 Entry Level Power Distribution Engineer – New Orleans We are in search of new Distribution Engineers to join a diverse and fast-paced organization as they support Utility and Power Distribution projects in the Woodlands. As a core team member, you will be interacting with other Electric Utility Disciplines, playing a valuable part in performing Field Inspections, Design Work within CAD/ArcFM, and Engineering Calculations. As a part of this work, you’ll be coordinating with Permit Agencies, Right-of-Way Specialists, System Owners, Field Leaders, Forestry Leaders, and Third-Party Owners for Joint-Owned Poles. This is an excellent chance for Engineers with minimal experience to join a stable industry and to develop marketable skills. This is for the next wave of hires to start in June.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Engineering Support during Construction Conduct Post-Construction review to ensure applicable Engineering and Construction standards are met Travel to sites as needed to perform inspections, then return to the office to perform engineering design work
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering – Preference for Electrical or Mechanical, but will consider Chemical and Industrial Knowledge in basic Electric Utility Industry concepts – Primary/Secondary Distribution Systems; Utility Standards; CAD Software; General Construction Strong Verbal/Written Communicate and ability to work effectively with Engineers and Experienced Designers Analytical Competency, Critical Thinking, and ability to Problem-Solve with minimal support Strong Interpersonal Skills, Self-Motivation, Initiative, and Desire to Learn
