Raytheon is currently seeking a Principal TestEquipment Design Engineer to join the Sensor Test Solutions (STS)Department. This is an excellent position for engineers with abackground in electrical design and softwareprogramming/automation, along with a desire to apply those skillsto developing, building, and integrating advanced test platformsand architectures. You will be joining a project team responsiblefor the development of test solutions and architectures for variousprograms within Raytheon. Typical test development applicationsinclude analog/digital, RF, High Power, and embeddedsoftware/firmware design activities. Test architectures include ablend of customized and COTS Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), alongwith custom electro-mechanical holding fixtures and associatedinterface cabling and harnessing. Engineers in this role will alsohave exposure to the full lifecycle development process – from therequirements definition phase of the test solution design processthrough the verification and final system sell-off in a productionfacility or field/depot environment. What You Will Do Work withinternal and external partners on the design and deployment ofcomplex factory test systems Lead development of test hardware,software, and/or firmware through its development cycle, fromrequirements definition through deployment at manufacturing orcustomer facilities. These test capabilities may span disciplines(Power, RF, Analog, Digital) and domains (hardware, software,firmware) Work with Prime Engineering, Production, and Operationsteams early in development cycle to identify capability andcapacity needs for manufacturing test and ensure smooth deploymentto manufacturing facilities Actively identify test readiness issuesand optimizations through the development lifecycle Leadmedium-to-large sized teams to meet project budget, schedule, andperformance commitments Provide technical leadership to employeesin support of their specific work assignments Engage in personaltechnical growth and encourage technical growth in peers and juniorengineers through mentoring activities Prepare and clearly presentproject status to functional and program leadership Understand andreport financial & earned value status for monthly reporting cycleProactively manage and mitigate Risks and Opportunities SupportManufacturing operations, including on-site troubleshooting anddebugging, both independently and in collaboration with designengineering teams Contribute to cost, schedule, and technicalsolutions for bid and proposal development Qualifications You MustHave Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology,Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) yearsof prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree and 5 years ofprior relevant experience Experience in an engineering design anddevelopment environment with 4 years of direct experience with TestEquipment design and development tasks Experience leading technicalteams and projects Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. governmentissued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Employees who are working inonsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes allproduction and maintenance employees, as they are essential to thedevelopment of our products. The salary range for this role is101,000 USD – 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a goodfaith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTXconsiders several factors when extending an offer, including butnot limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities,a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, andkey skills.
