Staff Electrical Engineer in the Energy Divisionfocuses on power generating facilities. Designs include theelectrical interconnect to the bulk power grid and all associatedpower generating facility auxiliary power equipment. Equipmentincludes rotating machines, such as generators and motors, largepower transformers, generator circuit breakers, isolated phase busduct, non-segregated phase bus duct, switchgear, motor controlcenters, small power transformers, and variable frequency drives.

Engineer will execute complex assignments requiring the applicationof advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new orimproved processes, equipment and/or technological methods. Somespecific duties & responsibilities include: Coordinating projectdesign assignments and design teams; Electrical system modelingincluding grounding, load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flashanalysis; Protective relay setting development, calculation, andcoordination studies; Developing scope of work, conceptual design,and execution plans; Developing equipment specifications,procuring, and factory acceptance testing electrical equipment;Preparing engineering cost and man-hour estimates and schedules;Preparing/creating construction documents for the installation ofnew or modifications of existing power generating facilityelectrical systems; Performing Project Management duties onelectrical discipline projects; Provide leadership, guidance,instruction, and mentorship to less experienced staff members;Regularly meeting and corresponding with clients or outsidepersonnel.; May coordinate departmental and divisional projectstudies and reports; Some marketing responsibilities; Other dutieswill be assigned as required. Electrical Engineers are encouragedand empowered to take on advanced opportunities which may includepositions as Lead Engineers, Engineering Managers, ProjectManagers, and Business Development Managers.

Requirements:

Workexperience which demonstrates progressive design and projectmanagement responsibilities. Has experience with design scopedevelopment, budget preparation and project execution meetingschedule requirements and maintaining established budgets. Thisposition requires an individual capable of applying intensive anddiversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas ofassignments. Must be capable of interpreting and developingsolutions to complex problems. Bachelors degree in electricalengineering from accredited program. Minimum 3 years of relatedexperience. Experience in electrical power, medium voltage, lowvoltage, lighting, grounding, electrical equipment control,protective relaying and associated systems design and constructionadministration strongly preferred. Facility type designs mayinclude power generating facilities, process facilities, and largeindustrial facilities. System modeling using SKM Power Tools, ETAP,or similar modeling software is preferred. SmartPlant / SmartPlantElectrical experienced preferred. Excellent written & verbalcommunications as well as strong analytical & problem solvingskills are required. Previous consulting engineering experiencepreferred. Completion of FE exam strongly preferred.
