Job Description
The Leidos Maritime Systems Division (MSD) currently has an opening for a talented Electrical Design Engineer to work on a team developing advanced ocean sensor systems used with next-generation manned and unmanned maritime platforms. Leidos MSD develops and deploys advanced technology solutions that address existing and emerging maritime missions of national importance for a broad range of customers across the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, other governmental agencies and commercial clients. This is an opportunity to assist the development, demonstration, production and integration of advanced electronics systems. This position encompasses a broad range of possible skill sets associated with the development of electronics hardware used for data acquisition, embedded microprocessor systems, analog design, DC power systems, and Xilinx FPGAs. Position may require occasional travel to and coordination with engineering activities at other Leidos facilities and government facilities, in multiple locations across the United States and possibly the United Kingdom. Primary Responsibilities Design electronic circuit cards (schematic/firmware/digital/analog) and systems Oversee development of prototypes and production PCBs Perform research and development activities in a lab, in the field, or at sea Integrate subsystems and provide field support for finished systems Provide support for establishing requirements and verification/validation activities Produce and review detailed test plans, procedures, and reports Communicate internally with team members – possibly across multiple domains Basic Qualifications Degree in electrical/computer engineering from an accredited program (Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years applicable experience or a Master’s degree with 8+ years applicable experience) Experience with analog and digital circuit design such as opamp circuits, ADC/DAC converters, microprocessors Willingness to travel Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret-level security clearance
