Senior Electrical Engineer Direct Hire, FTE with Full Benefitsand relocation assistance The Senior Electrical Engineer isresponsible for reviewing and interpreting customer requirements,both technical and programmatic, and assessing the level of effortrequired to fulfill them both in terms of time and material from anelectronics perspective. This position is also responsible forcontributing to sales proposal efforts, prototype development andother New Product Introduction (NPI) activities culminating in thetransition of new products into production. In this role, you willbe responsible for leading the design, development, and executionof projects utilizing embedded electronic controls for clientsrange of electromechanical devices: actuators and brushless DC(BLDC) motors, in the aerospace and defense markets. This positionrequires a solid understanding of analog and digital circuit designand layout, power electronics, high speed digital interfaces,FPGAs, DSPs, microcontrollers, DACs/ADCs, electric motor controltheory, embedded software/firmware, system controls and overallsystem mathematical modeling. The Senior Electrical Engineer isresponsible for reviewing and interpreting customer requirements,both technical and programmatic, and assessing the level of effortrequired to fulfill them both in terms of time and material from anelectronics perspective. This position is also responsible forcontributing to sales proposal efforts, prototype development andother New Product Introduction (NPI) activities culminating in thetransition of new products into production Essential FunctionsProduct/Project Lifecycle Engineering Develops electronicarchitectures and implement specific design for control of specificKearfott components and systems. Understands manufacturing andoverall design trade-offs (practical, realizable implementation ofdesigns). Develops and validates system performance models andpredictions. Participates as a member of a cross-functional projectteam including: software engineers, mechanical engineers,manufacturing engineers, program managers, technicians, andsales/customer support staff. Supports product improvement/costreduction initiatives. Performs and/or coordinates design analysesusing Matlab®, Mathcad®, and Pspice® (or other computer-aidedengineering/simulation tools). Prepares, maintains, and adheres toproject schedules and specific electronics project managementtasks, as required. Business Development Support Travels, asrequired, to support market development and customer needs Supportselectronics cost proposal activity Supports and fostersrelationships with our customers’ engineering teams

RequiredSkills:

Critical Competencies Technical versatility in electronicsdesign, electronics hardware/software integration, and systemelectromechanical integration Experience in industry standards suchas

DO-254, DO-178C, MIL-STD-882E

is a plus. Knowledge of relevantDO-160, MIL-STD-461, IPC and IEC standards for electronicsdevelopment Efficiently executes design and/or proposal analysesusing Altium, Matlab®, Mathcad®, and Pspice® (or othercomputer-aided engineering/simulation tools) Electronic componentsand test equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, etc.)Systemsengineering (requirements-based design and project execution)Analog and digital circuit design Printed circuit board (PCB)layout, manufacturing and assembly processes Electromagneticinterference and susceptibility design methods Experience withlightning protection Customer-centric attitude Excellent oral andwritten communication skills Ability to motivate and leadcross-functional teams Action-oriented, responsive, thorough, andattention to detail Accepts and positively responds to constructivecriticism to improve personal and project performance

RequiredExperience:

Education & Experience B.S. in Electrical Engineeringrequired; M.S. in Electrical Engineering preferred. Minimum 5 yearsrequired, 10 years preferred in digital motion controls and powerelectronic design, including experience in the following: DC and ACMotors Rotary and linear power transmission components (gears,ballscrews, etc). Various position feedback devices (resolvers,RVDT/LVDT, encoders, etc.)

DSP/FPGA

based servo systems Must belegally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship notavailable. Must be able to work on U.S. government programs and/orobtain security clearance in the future.
