Electrical Design Engineer Job Description The Controls Design Engineer II plays a crucial role in providing electrical and controls design for product improvements across our manufactured product lines. This position involves coordinating site-wide drawings for various projects to ensure compliance with engineering documents, manufacturing standards, and other required guidelines such as UL and NEC. The primary goal is to ensure the safety, quality, functionality, and conformity of our products. This role requires both independent and collaborative work, contributing to moderately complex aspects of projects. Responsibilities Design and improve electrical/controls infrastructure for manufactured product lines. Coordinate site-wide drawings as applicable per site/project. Ensure equipment/sites/projects are built and applied per engineering documents and standards. Contribute to moderately complex aspects of project design. Inspect products in-progress in manufacturing occasionally. Essential Skills Electrical engineering degree required. Minimum 2 years of related experience. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, single lines, product manuals, control drawings, work instructions, and electrical/control drawing markups. Proficient with 2-D AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent software. Knowledge of UL, NEC, and NFPA 79 standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Desire for continuous improvement. Detail-oriented with a positive can-do attitude. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with other teams. Work Environment The position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring three days onsite and two days working from home. The role involves interfacing with production during builds to ensure projects are completed on time and with high quality. The remaining time will be spent in an office setting, primarily working behind a CAD screen.
