Electrical Engineer- PER

DIEM OFFERED IF OVER 50 MILES FROM THE SITE!

Job Description As an Electrical Engineer, you will design school bus electrical systems using advanced electrical engineering principles. Your role includes developing 3D models, installation drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials. You will also research the latest developments in the vehicle industry and apply innovative solutions to create cost-effective alternatives to current production systems. You will provide support for production, warranty reduction, and field service corrective actions, ensuring your solutions are reliable and serviceable. Building strong internal relationships with Manufacturing, Field Service, Quality, Purchasing, and other departments is essential. You will collaborate with Test Group personnel to prototype new systems, perform development testing, and apply test results to new designs. It is crucial to ensure projects are cost-effective, functional, friendly to downstream departments, and compliant with all applicable regulations. Effective communication with design teams and other departments is vital. Responsibilities Design school bus electrical systems using electrical engineering techniques and principles. Develop 3D models, installation drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials. Research advancements in the vehicle industry to develop cost-effective alternatives. Support production, warranty reduction, and field service corrective actions. Build strong relationships with Manufacturing, Field Service, Quality, Purchasing, and other departments. Collaborate with Test Group personnel for prototyping and development testing. Ensure projects are cost-effective, functional, and compliant with regulations. Communicate effectively with design teams and other departments. Essential Skills Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited university/college. 3+ years of related product development experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. General familiarity with automotive electrical designs. Prior experience with 3D CAD software. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior automotive design experience. Experience with CAN communication network protocols. Experience with PLM software developing Bills of Materials. Knowledge of electrical vehicle architecture including relays, sensors, wiring harnesses, cables, and routing. CREO experience preferred. Work Environment This position requires onsite work five days a week in a manufacturing environment.
