Job Description
Overview Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-quality building materials and specialty wood products, is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead the electrical department in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in supporting production through hands-on equipment installation, troubleshooting, and driving improvements in efficiency, safety, and reliability. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. This full-time position is located in Weldon, NC. Responsibilities Manage and lead the electrical team in a continuous operation setting Scope and plan equipment control system upgrades, develop technical requirements, and select vendors Provide expert-level troubleshooting support to automation technicians Collaborate with production leadership to enhance equipment throughput, flexibility, and reliability Partner with corporate engineering and automation teams on key projects Support safety and quality initiatives with technical input and solutions Program and maintain PLCs, HMIs, and inspection/OT systems Implement modifications to control systems to improve operational performance Create and update standard operating procedures Lead root cause investigations on equipment failures and execute corrective actions Conduct risk assessments and apply mitigation tools Research and integrate new technologies to improve control capabilities Train and mentor team members to enhance departmental skills Contribute to capital planning for control system upgrades Coordinate with contractors as needed Comply with all safety regulations and model core values Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering or 5-8 years of relevant electrical experience Valid Electrical License At least five years of experience in control systems or manufacturing environments Strong background in PLC logic and programming Project management and organizational skills Proven leadership abilities Familiarity with manufacturing systems and equipment installations Effective communicator across all organizational levels High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills Ability to set and maintain high standards for performance Electrical Supervisor Card Experience supervising employees or contractors Exposure to highly automated manufacturing systems Industry experience in wood products or similar environments Experience with industrial computer networking Work sponsorship is not available at this time.
