Electrical Project Engineer Job Description The Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for reviewing engineering design plans, performing complex calculations, designing and constructing electrical systems and their components. The role involves liaising with other engineers and maintaining relationships with site personnel, vendors, and other stakeholders. The individual is expected to adhere to the allocated budget and build reliable, quality electrical systems. Responsibilities Prepare, receive, and evaluate bid packages for contractor work. Coordinate with plant management, production scheduling, and support groups to complete projects on schedule. Develop switching orders, plans, and procedures for safe shutdowns and implement safety policies, maintenance procedures, and operating standards for power distribution equipment. Analyze technical drawings, interpret specifications, and determine the electrical requirements of a given project. Diagnose problems and troubleshoot equipment. Essential Skills Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and Siemens PLC. Experience with AutoCAD and electrical engineering principles. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge and/or experience in industrial power distribution systems. 2D AutoCAD Electrical experience. Work Environment The work environment involves a leading manufacturing facility specializing in the production of wire and cable used in the transmission and distribution of electricity. The facility will undergo a construction phase for the next 1.5 years while remaining operational. The team consists of engineers and project managers who work collaboratively on long-term capital projects.
