Project Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to lead engineering design and project management for Plant Improvement and Capital Projects. This role involves enhancing existing processes, equipment, and facilities to improve performance, reduce waste, and increase reliability. You will also be instrumental in installing new processes or equipment and collaborating with Controls Engineers for control and instrumentation upgrades. The ideal candidate will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement teams, support new product innovation, and ensure safety and brand stewardship. Responsibilities Design and manage engineering projects for plant improvements and capital investments. Modify existing processes, equipment, or facilities to enhance performance, reduce waste, and increase reliability. Install new processes or equipment to improve operational efficiency. Collaborate with Controls Engineers for control and instrumentation upgrades. Provide technical and project management support for equipment or production line site transfers. Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement teams. Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety as a core organizational philosophy. Support new product innovation through engineering expertise. Analyze and own results/KPIs and act with urgency and decisiveness. Be a responsible steward of the brand, business team members, and stakeholders. Essential Skills Bachelor’s or technical degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field, or significant (15+ years) of applicable technical experience. Hands-on attitude with the ability to work closely with personnel on the shop floor. 2+ years of experience in project engineering, plant engineering, or other applicable technical roles. Mechanical and electrical experience in a 50/50 or 70/30 capacity. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with electrical, controls, and automation. 5+ years of experience providing technical engineering support in an automated manufacturing environment. Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment. Experience working with OEMs, Fab shops, installation contractors, and plant engineering. Work Environment This is a GMP environment with new lines being added throughout the year. The facility is newly built, offering a variety of projects from fully automated to partially automated lines. The role provides the opportunity to work on a range of equipment from new to refurbished, with potential for contract extension from 6 months to a year or possibly a direct position for the right candidate.
