• We are looking for a talented Controls Engineer – Senior to join our team specializing in manufacturing for our Cummins’ business in Whitakers, NC.

• Investigating project requirements and developing solutions that consider economic, personnel, and environmental factors will lead to sustainable and efficient outcomes. +

• Technical Support:

• Providing installation and technical support for PLC-based hardware and software will ensure seamless integration and operation of control systems. +

• Mentorship:

• Coaching and mentoring less experienced Controls Engineers will foster a collaborative and knowledgeable team, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

• QUALIFICATIONS

• Education/Experience:

• + College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. + Intermediate level of relevant work experience required. + Basic level of relevant work experience in controls engineering, or automation. + Familiarity with PLC hardware/software and troubleshooting techniques, specifically Allen-Bradley and Siemens controls. + Understanding of manufacturing environments and automation systems. Preferred Experience + Exposure to factory automation and control systems. + Experience in sensor technology and data measurement techniques. + Basic knowledge of controls system security and safety standards in industrial settings. + Intermediate to advanced knowledge of robots, specifically Fanuc robot programming.

• Additional Details:

• + 100% onsite role at the Rocky Mount Engine Plant in Whitakers, North Carolina. + Key stakeholder in ensuring new CNC lines meet the controls architecture requirements and work with equipment vendors for runoff and validation. + Lead production line and automation logic updates to reduce downtime and increase troubleshooting ease.
