- Auto glass and ceramics to drive cleaner, safer, andsmarter transportation Scope of Position In this role as an appliedelectrical imaging engineer, you will support the design, analysis,and manufacturing of world-class, high-precision electro-opticalassemblies.
This is a dynamic position for an individual to work aspart of Corning Advanced Optics’ Aerospace and Defense engineeringteam to develop custom precision electro-optical systems based onKeene’s world-class precision machining core competency. This is anexciting location with complete in-house design engineering,fabrication, and testing disciplines. Primary duties include thedesign, assembly, integration, and test of electro-opticalassemblies. Developing and defining the processes and proceduresrequired and training other engineers and operators to theseprocesses. Required Qualifications BS or MS in ElectricalEngineering, Software, Physics, or similar 2 years of direct workexperience in relevant field, may be university level.
Understanding of electronic architectures of optical imagingsystems. Ability to translate customer requirements into designspecifications for electronic PCBs and electronic architectures.
Hands-on experience debugging electrical systems at the system andcomponent level. Ability to create. read and interpret electricaltechnical drawings, interconnect diagrams, and system elementaries.
Experience with typical electrical instrumentation (oscilloscopes,multimeters, soldering equipment, etc.) Desired QualificationsExperience in electronic verification testing of E/O imagingsensors. Knowledge of optical spectroscopy, image collection, andhyperspectral imaging Confidence in interaction with all levels ofthe organization. (Production techs to Sr. Leadership) Ability tofunction on a product development team of multi-disciplinaryengineers. Basic understanding of geometrical optics Experiencewith LabVIEW Working knowledge of electrical modeling platformssuch as Spice. This position does not support immigrationsponsorship. The range for this position is $84,281.00 -$115,887.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for thesuccessful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-relatedfactors, including but not limited to geographic location, marketdemands, experience, training, and education.
