Job Description Targeted Annual PayRange:
Minimum of $90,000.00 to a maximum of $110,000.00 BENEFITSVeolia’s comprehensive benefits package includes paid time offpolicies, as well as health, dental and vision insurance. POSITION PURPOSE
Project Engineer -Commissioning of equipment and systems with Electrical focus. Mustbe a self-motivated, energetic professional, with experience and anunderstanding of building MEP systems design, construction, andcommissioning of critical systems ranging in size, rating andcomplexity. The ideal candidate shall possess theoretical andpractical knowledge in the commissioning, testing andtroubleshooting of electrical systems and related controls.
Candidate will be responsible for reviewing project information,executing daily field activities, maintaining projectdocumentation, assisting the Project Manager, and providingguidance to junior engineers. This role requires technicalcompetency and organizational skills, and is expected to work wellin a team environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Commissionelectrical distribution equipment and related controls, primarilyin data center environments, including HV and MV primarydistribution. Review system designs for compliance with clientfacility goals • Prepare plans and procedures for execution of thecommissioning process. Conduct commissioning activities from theDesign Phase into the Occupation Phase, in accordance with clientrequirements. Attend factory inspection and testing of equipmentand document findings and recommendations. Perform inspections ofelectrical equipment and contractor installation for compliance tospecifications and industry best practices. Conduct physicaltesting of electrical equipment and measure results using testinstrumentation • Fully document all field procedures, includingresults, issues, and observations using online applications. Reporton electrical system performance and make technical recommendationson issues • Work with project teams to coordinate and execute fieldactivities. Review and comment on project documentation, plans, andschedules. Submit and maintain daily commissioning reports asrequired. Assist in the training of junior engineers. Respond tocustomer inquiries in a manner that exceeds the customer’sexpectations Ensure compliance with company, client, and projectsafety requirements. Knowledgeable with common mechanical, andcontrols-related building equipment, including: Engine generators.
Uninterruptible power supplies & battery systems. Medium andlow-voltage electrical switchgear. PLC controls and sequences ofoperations. Automatic transfer switches. Static transfer switches.
Power distribution units. Busways. Grounding Systems. Electricalmonitoring systems
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Abilityto walk up to 5 miles per day. Carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to wearrequired PPE daily. Travel nationwide 50% – 75% if not assignedlocally. Qualifications Education / Experience / Background BSc/MScin Electrical Engineering with 2 or more years with missioncritical project experience, or relevant and applicable industryexperience. OR Minimum of 4 or more years of experience as acommissioner with mission critical project experience, or relevantand applicable industry experience Knowledge / Skills / AbilitiesExperience in Mission Critical facility commissioning. Organized,detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, problem solver. Goodcommunication and relationship skills. Effective written and verbalcommunication skills. Ability to manage multiple taskssimultaneously and work with limited supervision. Knowledge &experience with ASHRAE commissioning guidelines preferred.
Distributed control system experience a plus. Reasonableunderstanding of Building Management Systems. Deep understandingand application of test instrumentation.
