Serving majortransit agencies and railcar manufacturers, our Client supportsprograms ranging from HVAC, electrical panels and other complexrail components.

Position Overview:

The Electrical Engineer willassist with engineering and production support activitiesthroughout the product lifecycle—from program start-up throughdesign, documentation, installation, and performance validation.

This role is critical in ensuring seamless coordination betweendesign intent, production feasibility, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Support:

Assist production teamsduring program start-up, addressing engineering, drawing,installation, and assembly questions. Make real-time modificationsto designs or drawings as needed to support production needs.

Design Engineering:

Prepare and revise design layouts formechanical, electrical, and piping systems. Develop and interpretschematics, redlines, assembly drawings, and installation plans incompliance with company drafting standards. Ensure proper fit,tolerance, and assembly of components and systems. Bill ofMaterials (BOM) &

LOM:

Create and maintain Bills of Materials(BOMs) and Lists of Materials (LOMs). Support input, updates, andcorrections to BOMs as part of engineering change management.

Calculations & Documentation:

Prepare and review engineeringcalculations for component selection and performance analysis.

Ensure all design calculations comply with documented standards andlegal regulations. Collect technical data and vendor documentationfor inclusion in engineering design books.

Specifications &Standards:

Interpret customer specifications and apply themaccurately to design work. Prepare and review technicalspecifications for both established and new product developmentprojects. Select standard hardware and components based on systemperformance criteria.

Testing & Validation:

Review test results toensure compliance with design requirements. Analyze vendorcomponent data and evaluate test outcomes against systemspecifications.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Coordinate designsacross engineering functions and support cross-disciplineintegration. Ensure all deliverables are properly documented,traceable, and production-ready.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degreein Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a relatedtechnical field. 2 years of experience in adesign/drafting/engineering support role (rail industry preferred).Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) andschematics development. Strong understanding of mechanicaltolerances, material selection, and system-level design. Ability toread, interpret, and modify technical drawings and specifications.

Detail-oriented with solid documentation and calculation reviewskills. Familiarity with BOM/LOM creation and ERP or PLM systems isa plus.
