Electrical Engineer Job Description Join a dynamic team as an Electrical Engineer, where you will lead the engineering development, prototyping, design verification, and transition to production on complex analog, digital, and radio frequency (RF) products. Responsibilities Work cross-functionally across the organization with program management, procurement, operations, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, test, production, business development, and contracts. Create innovative ideas in support of internal research and development. Generate and implement improvements in product design and test throughput. Interface directly with customers and suppliers to support technical issues. Provide training, mentorship, and leadership to engineering and test staff. Research and apply electrical engineering principles and theories to solve customer problems. Support full program life cycles, including concept, specification, prototype, production, and sustainment. Lead teams of design engineers using established design and development process models such as CMMI or Six Sigma for Design. Create, review, and approve Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Requests for Variances (RFVs). Support and lead systems engineering, software engineering, and mechanical engineering efforts. Create and update corporate and engineering processes and procedures. Perform other functions as needed to support the company’s goals. Essential Skills Bachelor of Science degree from a 4-year accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering or related field. Must be a U.S. citizen . Experience with PCB projects, including design of the board, schematic, circuit, schematic capture, and CAD. Knowledge in Military and RF applications. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with design and development process models such as CMMI or Six Sigma for Design. Experience in creating Engineering Change Proposals and Requests for Variances. Work Environment Work with a team of 7 other Electrical Engineers on current and future Department of Defense (DOD) level projects. The role involves both office and electronics manufacturing floor environments. The position offers the opportunity to work within a growing military contractor with work/contracts scheduled out for at least 7 years. It is a 1-year contract-to-hire position.
