PRIMARYPURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs advanced technical/engineering problemsolving in support of nuclear plant operations while acting as aresource and technical expert to engineers. Responsible fortechnical decisions. Possesses excellent knowledge in functionaldiscipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledgeof applicable industry codes and regulations.
PRIMARY DUTIES ANDACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop,manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs
- Provide technical expertise and consultation through directinvolvement and as a subject matter expert when consulted toidentify and resolve equipment and system problems.
- Directlyfulfill engineering and technical leadership accountabilityregarding short-term and long-term programs that impact siteoperations.
- Perform engineering tasks as assigned by supervisionapplying engineering principles.
- Accountable for the accuracy,completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configurationmanagement and assuring that standard design criteria, practices,procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans andspecifications.
- Perform independent research, reviews, studiesand analyses in support of technical projects and programs.
- Recommend equipment, new concepts and techniques to improveperformance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design ormaterial flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
