Electrical Engineering III, Philadelphia, PA:
Design low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems for commercial, industrial, and municipal clients. Project types include highways, bridges, rail and roadway tunnels, rail stations, rail yards, rail maintenance facilities, airports, parks/recreation facilities, substations, parking garages, and other public and industrial facilities. Perform electrical power system designs including switchgear, switchboards, motor control centers, generators, transformers, distribution panels, variable frequency drives, uninterruptible power supplies and other electrical distribution equipment. Perform lighting calculations for offices, shops, roadways and highly complex and sophisticated tunnel spaces using AGi32 software and designing associated controls. Perform design for electrical grounding & lightning protection system, and low voltage special systems. Prepare construction drawings including single line diagrams or riser diagrams, electrical power and lighting plans, special systems plans, elementary and wiring schematics, panelboard schedules, typical details and specifications, design narratives and cost estimates. Typical projects require field investigation, design (from concept to final design — including plans, specifications, Basis of Design Reports, and quantities). Also provides bid and construction phase services. Perform extensive electrical system studies and calculations including short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, and load flow study using power analytical software packages (Ex. SKM). Conduct field investigations and analyze engineering problems, proposing solutions and alternatives, and providing recommendations. Communicate with clients to understand problems and provide a workable solution. Maintain and Prepare budget, scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated work assignment with minimal guidance and technical oversight for various projects. Review and refer to electrical codes and standards including
NEC, NFPA, IBC, IES.
Correctly complete work in accordance with codes and standards with minimal input from senior staff and be on-schedule while staying within budget. May telecommute.
Salary range:
$136,968 – $153,881 per year. Full-time. Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
